The short version: files you open or edit in this editor never leave your computer. There is no backend, no upload, and no account. We cannot read your documents.
localStorage: your chosen theme (dark / light / warm), the interface language, and whether the sidebar and editor pane are open.IndexedDB: a handle to the folder you granted access to, so you don't have to hunt for the path again after a reload. It is an opaque browser reference, not file content.You can clear both at any time via your browser's site-data settings, or revoke file system access in site permissions.
None at present. The Markdown parser and the monospace font the editor needs are embedded in the file itself — nothing is loaded from a CDN or a font service, and the site pages load no external resources either. Body text uses the fonts already on your computer, so nothing is downloaded for that.
So apart from Cloudflare (next section) and advertising (section 5), no third party learns your IP address just because you opened this site.
⚠️ This was not true before 2026-08-12: marked.js was loaded from cdnjs and the typefaces from Google Fonts, and both services saw your IP. Everything is now self-contained.
We keep no access logs of our own. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes connection information (such as IP addresses) under its own policies to operate the service and prevent abuse.
